H.J. (Hal) Miller
With experience spanning a broad spectrum of technical, strategic planning, and financial areas within the energy industry, Hal is widely recognized for innovative problem solving. Prior to founding Galway Group (2003) and Galway Capital’s (2002) predecessor company, Cornerstone Ventures, Hal held a variety of engineering and operating positions with Phillips Petroleum and Colorado Interstate Gas. He also held senior marketing, planning, and business development positions with Transco Energy and The Williams Companies. Following these ventures, Hal was responsible for the start-up and development of Transfuel Resources, an indirect subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation.
Through Galway Capital, Mr. Miller is registered as a General Securities Representative (Series 7), General Accounting Principal (Series 22), and General Securities Principal (Series 24) with the FINRA (www.finra.org). Hal holds an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and an MBA from the University of Colorado.
Bob’s experience in the energy industry has covered a broad range of topics, from economic evaluation and risk analysis for upstream oil & gas exploration and development opportunities, to merchant power and LNG project development, long-dated structured energy transactions, energy trading, and risk management. Prior to joining Galway, Bob was Senior Managing Director and Chief Risk Officer of Bear Energy LP and, following the merger of the Bear Stearns Companies, Inc. into JP Morgan Chase, Managing Director in the JP Morgan Global Commodities Market Risk organization. Earlier in his career, Bob was Senior Vice President of Strategy, Portfolio & Risk Management for Suez Energy North America, Inc., a Partner with Strategic Decisions Group, Vice President of Risk Strategy for Sonat Energy Services, Manager of Decision Analysis for Atlantic Richfield Company, and a Project Manager with Natomas Company.
Bob has been invited to testify on various energy issues by both the U.S. Congress and the FERC, has published several articles on the topics of real options and risk management, and also was among the founders of the Committee of Chief Risk Officers (CCRO) as SUEZ Energy’s representative. Bob holds a B.S.E. Degree from Princeton University in Aerospace & Mechanical Sciences/Engineering-Physics and an M.S. Degree from Stanford University in Management Science & Engineering.
Ms. Klimczak’s experience spans commercial areas of oil, gas, LNG and utilities. Ms. Klimczak built a solid record of success leading global energy businesses for ExxonMobil, TXU, BHP Billiton and BG Group. She brings knowledge in strategy and planning, supply and transportation, sales and marketing, operations, supply chain and business development. Ms. Klimczak applies her diverse global experience to advising clients on commercial matters in oil and gas infrastructure, shipping and marketing.
Renee earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Quantitative Business Analysis and a Masters in Business Administration from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA.
Molly Plant is a graduate of the University of Houston with a business degree, and has been with Galway Group since 2005. Since coming on board with Galway, she has assisted in the implementation and maintenance of the core data systems that serve as a foundation for the research and analysis that Galway produces.Molly is a key decision maker when it comes to determining the technology, software, and publications that Galway needs as a leading advisory firm. Most importantly, Molly utilizes her communication and accounting skills to organize all aspects of client care in regards to client relations, project financials, time management, and contract confidentiality.
Molly is the point of contact for questions regarding client relations as well as office technology and other resources. Her ability to find inter office solutions for a wide array of issues and opportunities has made her a resource that is invaluable to Galway.
